POSITION SUMMARY:

The Fabrication Lead Man will be primarily responsible for the direction of the fabricators assigned to them to maintain production schedules and deadlines set forth by the Fabrication Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to work with hands and weld skillfully, accurately read blueprints, as well as demonstrate successful leadership and team building skills.

• Perform own fabrication tasks as well as directing fabricators assigned to them while maintaining production schedules
• Encourage safe work practices through example and instruction
• Encourage good attendance of fabricators working with you through example and instruction
• Be an encouraging voice throughout the Fabrication Facility pertaining to Hoffmann, management and clients.
• Attend and participate in daily, and weekly meetings to maintain production schedule.
• Be available for deliveries and sign offs in the absence of the Fabrication Manager
• Report back to the Fabrication Manager any safety, quality or efficiency concerns
• Coordinate with Fabrication Manager and CWI on any quality issues.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Minimum 2 years or more leading a crew in a fabrication facility.
• Minimum 4 years or more of fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blue prints.
• Ability to fabricate, troubleshoot welding and layout.
• Ability to direct 4 or more fabricators.
• Strong problem-solving skills required.
• Must be able to receive, understand and execute written and verbal directions, as well as the ability to communicate and interact with others effectively.
• Excellent work ethic and strong attention to detail required.

POSITION SUMMARY

Senior Fabricators will be primarily responsible for assembling and/or fabricating parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications and to the production schedule.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to work with hands and weld skillfully, and accurately read blueprints. 

• Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately fabricate products.
• Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, grinders and other welding hand tools.
• Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods.
• Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements.
• Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
• Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes.
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
• Prioritize workflow through effective communication with management staff.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Minimum 4 years or more of welding and fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of and experience in operating brake press, roll, and shearing machinery commonly used in steel fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blue prints.
• Ability to fabricate, troubleshoot welding and layout.
• Strong problem-solving skills required.
• Must be able to receive, understand and execute written and verbal directions, as well as the ability to communicate and interact with others effectively.
• Excellent work ethic and strong attention to detail required.
